INTERSECTION

Intersection, I hesitate as I type this word and think, “wasn’t that the title of a really bad movie in the mid-1990s?” I decide to stand by the word and use it anyway. Looking out my window about a month ago the staff and I snapped this picture of Washington. I thought, Now, Washington is both figuratively and literally shrouded in mystery.

I usually find myself at the very foggy, very busy intersection of U.S. Immigration Law, Export Compliance and Defense Security law. There are many crashes and some fatal usually at the corner of “Yah we got that covered with 5 people across HR, in-house export managers, outside consultants and now and then corporate attorneys” and “We only hire U.S. permanent residents or citizens so we don’t have to worry about it at all.”

Think about how cumbersome the multi-expert communication chain really is when you need answers fast. You can’t effectively develop a compliance program and related business strategies by occasionally pulling people across disciplines to talk about these topics. Communication among various in-house resources is an essential element, but one point of contact with the expertise to guide your efforts is indispensable in your quest for export, visa and national security compliance and clarity. Don’t under estimate the tangential benefit of having legal counsel at your disposal that can successfully reduce the amplitude of those migraine headaches and the frequency of those sleepless nights, while greatly reducing your compliance budget by reducing the number of advisors to one comprehensive source.

We make sense of the morass of regulations that collide at the intersection of Defense Security, Security Clearances, Export Compliance and Immigration law, so you can make business and management decisions with confidence.
